#02 - A.I. pointing out personal blind spots and build-in-public update

(2-minute read)
I promised a shorter update this week, so let's see if I can pull it off.
GENERAL & ADMINISTRATIVE
Testing an interesting AI-powered note-taking tool: Read.AI
I started testing a new tool a couple of weeks ago called Read.ai. It automates the recording of all of your meetings, takes notes, then provides a report that's been synthesized with A.I.. The reports are very impressive. Above is a tiny slice of the reporting, but it's given me some things to work on:
- I talk too fast
- I'm using non-inclusive terms like "you guys", s**t, & f**k. I'm pretty sure the call below is what tripped the alarm.
Chris Hartshorn (left) is a Fractional CFO in the venture-backed startup scene in Tulsa. Oh, and we were college roommates for three years at San Diego State University, which is why this new app is flagging my calls for language. Chris and I meet every other Thursday to work on Vision to Life's Financial Literacy Course (and talk s**t).
New Laptop
Bought a new laptop two weeks ago and it's still in the box. The setup has been looming, and we've been busy, (unlike everyone else). And I love the laptop I have, but it was time.
PRODUCTS & SERVICES
Quarterly Planning Quick-Start Guide is written & shipped off to Creative. Crystalizing my thinking on this has been on my roadmap for a while (years), so it felt good to eat this frog. I'm excited to A/B test some marketing campaigns with this product in December.
Financial Literacy: From Statements to Budgets, our first digital course, got new quiz questions added at the end.
The community product is just about finished for V1. Jenah continues to impress with her ability to solve problems on her own. That's one of the top things I look for when hiring, but it's especially valuable at this early stage.
REVENUE
MARKETING:
Continued outreach on LinkedIn. I'm a little behind on engagement, but there are meetings waiting for me in my DMs. tsk tsk.
Shorts for YouTube. Got first round of video content (30 shorts) back from our go-to-market firm and they've done a fantastic job. Like most, I don't love seeing myself on video, but it must be done. I wasn't eating as many Reese's Cups when we recorded this, so I had gotten a little gaunt.
That problem is fixed as of today.
But the shirt makes me look like Andy Dufrane... and this famous gif of Patrick Bateman at the same time.
They somehow managed to have my face frozen in a really dumb position as the thumbnail on all the videos...
or perhaps that's just how I look all the time 😐.
SALES
No sales to report this week, but Laura has been crushing outreach.
I had two leads that were disqualified from last week's outreach. I'm excited about the upcoming marketing campaigns we'll be launching with all of my serial killer videos mentioned above.
CLIENT SUCCESS
Laura is going through training with our go-to-market firm and starting to get a better picture of how our new-member onboarding will go, which she'll be leading. She's ramping quickly & doing a great job.
NEXT WEEK
The quarter is half over at the end of next week, and actually more than half over because most shut down for the holidays.
